JMC 2033 is a course that is intended to aid students in formulating their writing skills and to make students effective communicators. The class focuses on the use of words and how to use them effectively and professionally.
You could call JMC 2033, “Writing Skills for Multimedia Professions” or “Multimedia Wordsmithing” or “Multimedia Language Skills.” The class focuses on perfecting students verbal messages so they are able to achieve the main goals, which are to inform, persuade and entertain. Though journalism is a main part of JMC 2033, the class helps students in all different mass media fields. It prepares each student for the specific field they wish to enter. In all mass media fields you must learn how to properly gather information and to use that information in media messages so that it can properly serve audiences; JMC 2033 assists in teaching students to do just this. At the end of this course students should have improved their writing skills, they should understand the specific conventions of writing for mass media, understand the core values of their profession, build media literacy, practice various types of media writing, develop professional skills and begin to define their interest.
JMC 2033 is not an easy course; students must practice to become the writer that will find the best job. JMC 2033 makes this possible but expects much effort and determination from each student. With hard work and diligence students will leave JMC 2033 as en effective communicators and with professional writing skills.
